Alfred State honors years of service milestones and retirements

ALFRED — Alfred State honored employees celebrating service milestones at the annual employee recognition luncheon. The event also honored retirees, and Craig Clark was awarded the Pioneer Spotlight Award.

Craig Clark and Rebecca Comer were honored for 35 years of service while John Garippa was recognized for 30 years of service at the college.

Dale Burns, William Dean, Nancy Driscoll, Casey Gross, Andrew Nelson and Randall Woodworth were recognized for 25 years of service.

Timothy Bocchi, Maira Bordeaux, Craig Heller, Dave Holmes, Laurie Moline, Jane Vavala, Eric Wilmot and Patrick Woodworth were honored for 20 years of service.

Danielle Bossard, Brenda Clancy, Christine Cleveland, Angela Gilette, Keith Glover, Timothy Greenthal, James Knighton, Katherine Price, Bradley Smith and Brett Talbot were recognized for 10 years of service.

Retirees Karla Back, Craig Clark, Timothy Cochran, Rebecca Comer, Gary Graham, Dave Holmes, Kelly Mark, Dennis O’Dell, Mary Perkins, Timothy Rohrer, Tammy Sharp, Laurie Spike, Brett Talbot and John Williams were thanked and recognized for their years of service to the college.

Timothy Cochran, William Laubert and Michael Putnam were also recognized with the honor of receiving emeritus status.

At the close of the ceremony, Alfred State President Dr. Steven Mauro called Craig Clark back to the stage and presented him with the Pioneer Spotlight Award. Clark was recognized for his service to Alfred State, the community of Alfred and Allegany County.

Clark rose through the ranks from professor to Dean of the School of Applied Technology, to vice president of academic affairs. Most recently, he has served the college as the vice president for economic development.

Clark managed and developed the hot mix asphalt certification programs in New York through Alfred State, served as Mayor of Alfred and has been an integral part of the SkillsUSA postsecondary competitions.

The Pioneer Spotlight Award is given to individuals who have distinguished themselves by meritorious participation in an act, an operation, or an effort directed toward an individual or group that resulted in a significant outcome positively impacting the life of others. Clark is the second recipient of this award.

All honorees received a commemorative certificate and a gift to recognize their years of service to Alfred State.
