OLEAN — Total Senior Care (TSC) will host its annual Senior Health & Fitness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at 519 N. Union St.
This free event — held in celebration of National Senior Health & Fitness Day — aims to empower older adults and caregivers with tools and resources for living healthy, active lives.
The fair will bring together more than 15 local organizations offering services and support for senior wellness, including new participants this year: Threehouse Law Firm, P.C., Olean Meditation Center, Directions in Independent Living, Eden Heights of Olean, Venture Forthe and the Center for Elder Law & Justice.
Free blood pressure and BMI screenings will be available on-site, as well as a ConnectLife Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All May donors will receive flex tickets to a Buffalo Bisons home game. To schedule an appointment, call (716) 379-8474 or visit ConnectLifeGiveBlood.org and enter sponsor code: 000924.
At 11:45 a.m., TSC will give a special presentation highlighting its DayBreak social program and comprehensive managed long-term care services for adults 55-plus, designed to support independence and safety at home.
“We’re the best-kept secret in town — but we don’t want to stay a secret,” said Roxanne Padlo, Center Program Director. “We know the services we’re providing are having an extraordinary impact.”
In a featured session from the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY, guests will learn “10 Ways to Love Your Brain,” offering practical strategies to boost brain health at any age. Attendees can also explore two large-scale organ inflatables brought by Roswell Park, including a colon and a mystery organ that plays a key role in breathing.
Guests may enjoy free coffee samples from Rocket Cup Coffee and ice cream from Perry’s, featuring chocolate, cookies & cream and French roast coffee flavors. While supplies last, attendees will also receive a neck tote first aid kit, courtesy of Both, Branch & Hendrix.
Additional participating vendors include: CASA Trinity, Cattaraugus County Health Department, Olean Family YMCA, Cancer Services Program, Department of Community Services, Cattaraugus County Department of Aging, Olean Public Library, the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY, Roswell Park and HomeCare & Hospice.
Family members and caregivers are strongly encouraged to attend together with the seniors in their lives.
“In addition to those 55-plus, we welcome and encourage caregivers and family members to come along,” said Sarah Negron, agency relations coordinator. “This is a wonderful chance to learn side-by-side with your loved one, ask questions and discover local resources you may not have known existed. Whether you’re providing daily care or just helping from time to time, attending together can open the door to new support, services, and peace of mind.”
Additional sponsors include Databranch, Siemens-Energy, and Country Fair. Parking is available on North Union Street and in the lot south of the main entrance.
