OLEAN — An Olean man is facing two drug-related charges.
At 10:30 p.m. Thursday, members of the Olean Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at 309 N. Sixth St. Officers arrested Justin D. Vreeland, 32, of the same address. Police charged him with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors.
“We had no problems executing the warrant,” said Capt. Robert Blovsky of the city’s police department. “We found a small quantity of heroin, a scale and some hypodermic needles.” The arrest is the result of a four-month-long investigation, Capt. Blovksy said, adding that police believe Vreeland is a drug dealer.
Officers also arrested Frank J. Chase, 28, of 326 Tompkins St., who was inside when the warrant was execution.
“He had an outstanding arrest warrant for petit larceny,” Capt. Blovsky said. “He wasn’t charged on anything to do with drugs. He was just there visiting.”
Vreeland and Chase were held pending arraignment.
