Program (HEAP)

Applications are now anticipated to be accepted beginning November 17, 2025

As a result of New York State adjusting the HEAP program opening date, Allegany County Department of Social Services will begin accepting applications for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) regular benefits on the official opening day of HEAP. We anticipate this day to be Monday, November 17, 2025, for the 2025-26 heating season. The projected closing date for regular HEAP is April 7, 2026. Applications for emergency benefits will be

accepted beginning Friday, January 2, 2026, through the projected closing date of April 7, 2026. Please note that Allegany County offices will be closed the following days: November 4th for Election Day, November 11th for Veteran’s Day, November 27h and 28th for Thanksgiving and December 24th and 25th for Christmas.
