ANNUAL

ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Belmont Fire District will take place on December 9, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Belmont Fire Department Firehouse located at 80 Schuyler Street, Belmont, New York for the purpose of electing the following fire district officers:

One Fire Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2031;

All candidates for a District Office shall be residents of the Belmont Fire District, not convicted of any degree of arson and shall file in writing their name, and the position they are seeking with the Secretary of the Belmont Fire District, at P. O. Box 11, Belmont, New York 14813, and must be actually received by the Fire District Secretary on or before 5:00 p.m. on November 19, 2025.

Pursuant to Town Law 174(2), the person receiving the greatest number of votes for the office of fire commissioner shall be elected for a term of five years; the person receiving the second highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of four years.

Any elector of the Belmont Fire District who shall be registered voter with the Allegany County Board of Elections on or prior to November 17, 2025 and who shall have resided in the Belmont Fire District for at least thirty days preceding such election shall be qualified to vote.
