OLEAN — For the Olean High girls basketball team, it was a day to celebrate offense.
The Huskies’ senior star reached a rare milestone. And collectively, Chelsea Bowker’s squad had an offensive explosion for the ages.
Sara Pfeiffer scored her 2,000th career point at Olean and buried seven of the Huskies’ 19 3-pointers Saturday in a 97-32 CCAA West I win over Fredonia.
Pfeiffer, the program’s all-time leading scorer, finished with 41 points — her second 40-plus-point game in as many days for Olean.
“We’ve watched Sara mature into a great player over the years,” Bowker said. “We know that she can score, but she does a lot of other things. The way she passes to her teammates, 2,000 points on top of that shows how special of a player she is.”
It wasn’t just Pfeiffer who lit up the scoreboard in this one. Six different players hit 3s for Olean, including four from Justine Brooks and three from Elyse Graham.
Brooks scored 14 points and Sophia Aiello added 12 for the Huskies, who improved to 14-2.
For Fredonia (6-8), Grace Mroczka led the way with 10 points.
Genesee Valley 49, Rochester Academy Charter 34
IRONDEQUOIT — Bailey Bennett racked up 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Anna Gordon had 13 points and six boards to key Genesee Valley (11-5).
Mackenzie Bennett grabbed nine boards for the Jaguars, who won their seventh straight game heading into matchups with Whitesville and Fillmore this week.
Navaeh Mack led Rochester Academy Charter (7-11) with 15 points.
Addison 44, Wellsville 30
ADDISON — Bionca Conklin tallied 13 points to spark Addison (11-6).
For Wellsville (11-6), Jana Whitehouse grabbed 10 rebounds, Marley Adams had six boards and Taylor Adams made three steals.
