The St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team (3-4) had its second consecutive hot start Wednesday night at Delaware (3-2). The problem, once again, was the finish as the Bonnies fell to the Blue Hens, 68-58, at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Del..

Bona held a commanding 29-15 lead with 4:46 remaining in the first half after CeCe Dixon’s third three-pointer. The Blue Hens then went on a 10-1 run to end the half, cutting the Bona lead to five.

“We brought that up at halftime, we talked about it after North Texas. We gave them layups and free throws to bail them out of what was a very good half defensively,” St. Bonaventure coach Jim Crowley said.

The second half started just as the first half ended. Delaware put together another run, this time 24-8 spanning the first 12 minutes of the second half to take the lead and build it to 49-38.
