The remains of a fire and other waste under the South Union Street bridge on Wednesday indicate the use of the area as shelter by homeless individuals. City officials reported Tuesday that a renamed and restaffed homelessness task force will meet next week to help build out plans to help reduce the homeless population and provide services as needed, among other public safety-related tasks.
