Rhoda R. Gaebler

OSWEGO — Rhoda R. Gaebler, 96 of Oswego, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 6, 2026).

She was born in Buffalo and was the daughter of the late Leslie R. and Vera F. McElheney Christ.

Mrs. Gaebler was the widow of the late Robert W. Gaebler, who died in 1995.

She taught fifth grade for 27 years in the Phoenix School District.

Mrs. Gaebler was a graduate of the Cuba Central School and SUNY Oswego.

She is survived by Patricia Ray Gaebler Nalette of California; one son, Robert L. Gaebler of Pavillion; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba,  Tuesday (Oct. 13, 2026) with viewing at 11 a.m. and a funeral service at noon. Pastor Claudia Little will officiate. Burial will follow in Black Creek Cemetery.
