Bondalyn G. ‘Bonnie’ Rose
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Bondalyn G. “Bonnie” Rose, of New Smyrna Beach, formally of Farmersville, N.Y.,, died Friday evening (Oct. 2, 2026) in her home, following a long illness.
She was born in Franklinville, N.Y., to the former Robert H. Lambert and Daphne McCaa Lambert. On Dec. 22, 1967, Bonnie married the former Stephen A. Rose, who passed Dec. 30, 2014.
Bonnie attended Ten Broeck Academy and was a lifelong member of the Farmersville Fire Dept. She worked at several jobs over the years, from Stardell in Franklinville to Prestolite in Arcade, N.Y. She ended her career at the assisted living home in New Smyrna Beach.
Bonnie then took her passion to help people to her beloved sewing machine. As best could be counted, she supplied over 6,000 “pillow case” dresses for young girls in Haiti and anywhere else they were needed. Hers are known for the pocket that always contained a small toy. She made more quilts than could be counted, for family and friends to local nursing homes, VFWs and family advocacy homes in the area, many were placed in local police cars to be used on the spot for the little ones. And she never forgot her Western New York roots, as she knitted hats for classrooms in the Buffalo area for any child in need.
Surviving are her two sons, Karl (Marisol) Rose and Kevin (Wendy) Rose; a brother, Charles (Zada) Lambert; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Lannie Lambert; and a granddaughter, Danielle Lee Rose.
There will be no funeral or viewing per her wishes. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the near future.
The family asks that any donations be made to the St. Jude Research Hospital or the Farmersville Fire Dept.
