Rachel Sue Lovell
Rachel Sue Lovell
ROCHESTER — Born in Olean on Dec. 9, 1970, Rachel was the daughter of John “Mac” Sue and Barbara Bowen Sue.
She graduated from Olean High School in 1989 and, in that same year, married her high school sweetheart, “Jim” Lovell.
Rachel was a dedicated RN at OGH for 30 years, a career that reflected one of the qualities that defined her best: her deep care for others.
Above every accomplishment and title, Rachel was a cherished mother and grandmother. She was known for her kindness, generosity, charisma and love of pickles. Rachel leaves behind a hole in her family that can never truly be filled.
Rachel is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Chase Miller) Lovell; a very special nephew, John (Ileen Marcellin) Tucker; her grandson, Manny James “Peanut” Acevedo; her mother, Barbara Sue; her brothers, John “JB” (Lori Shatney) Sue and Stephen (Rebecca Sue) Sue; along with many other loved ones.
Rachel was predeceased by her father, John McCord Sue; her niece, Kara Greeley; her sister, Gretchen Ann Tucker; her husband, James Lovell; and her cherished daughter, Elizabeth Acevedo.
All will be welcome to her Celebration of Life from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday (Oct. 9, 2026) at the American Legion, 4350 Route 417, Allegany.
She was deeply loved. She will be deeply missed. And she will never be forgotten.
