OLEAN — Judith A. “Judy” Hadley, of Olean, passed away peacefully Monday (Sept. 28, 2026) at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean.

Judy will be remembered for her kind, thoughtful and generous nature and for the love she had for her family and friends. She was a very family-oriented person who treasured the relationships she built throughout her life. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly and took great joy in her great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

As the “official” family photographer and historian, she loved sharing these family memories with everyone.

Judy was a dedicated and hardworking woman. For many years, she worked two jobs, balancing full-time and part-time employment. Throughout her working years, she was employed by Clarke’s Plumbing, Conway Trucking, Beef ’n Barrel and CUTCO. Her strong work ethic and dedication were evident throughout her life.

Judy also had a remarkable ability to make and maintain friendships. She had many dear friends and seemed to run into someone she knew wherever she went — from Disney World to the Florida Everglades to every restaurant in the Olean area. Her friendships were an important part of her life, and she brought warmth and kindness to everyone she met.

Judy was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary’s of the Angels Basilica in Olean. Her faith was an important part of her life.

She is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Trahan of Allegany and Jackie (Vladimir) Hadley of Tallahassee, Fla. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Mark (Michelle) Thomas, Lynn (Trent) Wolford, Tim (Shayne) White, KC (Traci) White and Chris (Rena) White.

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Esther Hadley of Olean; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean (Vic) Thomas of LeRoy, Mary (Jim) Hadley of LeRoy, Leo Trahan of Portville and two great nephews, Eric Wolford and John Thomas, both of Batavia.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lynn and Trent Wolford and Tim White for the extra love, care and support they provided to their favorite aunt. Their kindness, compassion and dedication meant so much to Judy and to the entire family.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 1, 2026) at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State St., Olean. A funeral service was held at 9:30 a.m. Friday (Oct 2, 2026) at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude’s had a special place in Judy’s heart, she was a longtime supporter.

Judy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, generosity, unwavering work ethic, and love for her family will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
