Joan Marie Nannen
Joan was a registered nurse who spent many years caring for the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany at St. Elizabeth Motherhouse. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and was known for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor.
She was an avid gardener and birdwatcher and was a lifetime fan of Elvis.
Joan is survived by her children, Jay (Patty) Nannen of Fairport, Brad (Sandy) Nannen of Young Harris, Ga., Eric Nannen of Allegany and Brian Nannen of Hamburg; grandchildren, Justin (Melissa) Foster, Joshua Foster, Jerrica Foster, Jake (Alice) Nannen, Erin Nannen, Kaitlyn (Tom) Budzynski, Wes (Nina) Nannen, Katie (Carson) Braswell and Robert (Dawn) Rogers; many great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Susie (Bill) Ploetz of Olean.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jerome; daughter, Beth (James) Foster of Coudersport, Pa.; and brothers, Rodney, Richard and Robert Lecceardone of Little Valley.
Joan’s funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday (Sept. 18, 2026) at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany, with burial to follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
