Michael John Farrington, loving companion, father, grandfather and brother
ALLEGANY — Michael J. Farrington, of Five Mile Road, passed away Sunday (Aug. 30, 2026) at Olean General Hospital.
Mike was born April 9, 1966, in Olean, and was the son of Ronald Everett and Geraldine Daisy Thurston Farrington.
Mike was a 1984 graduate of Ten Broeck Academy.
He worked at a number of places as a mechanic, including Waste Management and Casella. Most recently he was a truck driver for Boehmer in Machias, retiring about eight years ago due to his health.
Mike enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing, watching the Buffalo Bills and Sabers, all outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and bird watching, but most of all he was Pops to his grandchildren, he especially loved being with them and his family.
Mike is survived by his lifelong loving companion, Sara J. Potter; two sons, Randy M. (Dawnyelle) Farrington of Franklinville and Garrett M. (Angela Fox) Farrington of Allegany; six grandchildren, Kameron, Kayden, Brantley, Luca, Sawyer and David; four siblings, Lorrie B. (Terry) Fisher of Florida and their children, Leanne, Kelly and Karen; Bradley R. (Patty) Jermain of West Valley and their children, Jessica, Jennifer and Jeremy; April L. (Joe) Ritts of Syracuse and their children, Nick, Kate, Sam and Steph; and Tracey C. (Terry) McClory of Franklinville and their children, Tiffany and Joe.
Mike was predeceased by his parents; and an infant son, Tyler Forrest Farrington in 1992.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 5, 2026) at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home 7 N. Main St., Franklinville, at which time a memorial service will be held. Rev. Mark Palmisano, pastor of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Prospect Cemetery.
