Dennis F. McFadden, husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, great-grandfather

OLEAN — Dennis F. McFadden passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday (Aug. 28, 2026).

Dennis was born Nov. 10, 1954, in Wellsville, the son of Francis and Catherine Bolam McFadden, and the stepson of Edward Piper. He married Rita Marcellin on June 14, 1980, at the Transfiguration Church in Olean.

Dennis was a graduate of Olean High School.

Dennis worked for Stroehmann’s Bakery in Olean; he retired after 30-plus years.

He was a member of the Pulaski Club and loved watching the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and the New York Yankees.

Dennis is survived by his wife; children, Michelle (Jeff) Henning, Andrew McFadden, Stephanie (Michael) Granger and Kimberly (Pat Fitzgerald) McFadden; granddaughters, Alicia Henning, Kayla Henning, Madison Henning, Lily McFadden and Claire McFadden; grandsons, Louis Granger and Jack Granger; great-granddaughter, Elosie Stroka; siblings, Dan McFadden, Patty Greenstein, Mary McFadden and Denise (Joe) Kubic; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; stepfather; sister, Peggy Crandell; brother-in-law, Gary Greenstein; in-laws, Louis and Frances Marcellin; and granddaughter, Cecelia Granger.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 2, 2026) at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean, with a funeral service to be held at 3 p.m.
