Michael Wayne Dutton
OLEAN — With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Michael Wayne Dutton, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Michael was born on August 8, 1968, in Olean. The son of Dianne (Morgan) Crawford and the late Harold Dutton, he was a 1986 graduate of Allegany Central High School and continued his education at Alfred State College, where he earned his degree. Michael had previously worked at the Olean Tile Plant and Cutco in Olean before beginning his career with the City of Olean, where he was currently employed.
Michael enjoyed the outdoors and the simple things in life. He loved hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He especially cherished the time he spent with his beloved dog, Midnight, and taking walks with him.
Michael will be deeply missed by his mother, Dianne Crawford of Homosassa, Florida; siblings, Gail (Bridget) Hamilton of Grand Island, Wayne (Wilma Chestnut) Dutton of Allegany, and Colleen (Fred) Pace of Duvall, Washington; as well as his nieces and nephews.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Harold Dutton.
His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
Family will receive friends Wednesday (Aug. 26, 2026) from 12-3 p.m. at Guenther Funeral Home, 1303 E. State St., Olean, with a funeral service at 3 p.m. followed by burial at Five Mile Cemetery, Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
