GREAT VALLEY — James E. Fredrickson, 83, of Great Valley, died Saturday (Aug. 15, 2026) following a long illness.
Born Dec. 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Edwin and Elsie Olson Fredrickson. He was married in Warren, Pa., on July 12, 1963, to the former Dorothy E. Marsh, who survives.
He was a graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1961.
James had been employed as a machinist for GTE/Sylvania in Warren for over 35 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of the Antique Auto Club of America (AACA), the Horseless Carriage Club of America and the Family Motor Coach Association. He was also a member of the Viking Club of Jamestown.
He was a car enthusiast who restored, rebuilt and customized cars of all ages. He enjoyed traveling with his wife across the country in their motorhome, attending various car events including the Barrett Jackson Car Auction. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Edwin (Deborah) Fredrickson and Kelly (Dona) Fredrickson, both of Ellicottville; three granddaughters, Courtney McNeight, Logan Fredrickson and Hayly Fredrickson, all of Ellicottville; a grandson, David (Cassandra Johnson) McNeight III of Salamanca; a great-grandson, Jackson McNeight; a sister, Judy Clark of Elizabethville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
