Charles V. Bennett

HINSDALE — Charles V. Bennett formerly, of Olean, passed away Tuesday (Aug. 11, 2026) after a long illness.

He was born in Udon Thani, Thailand, on March 23, 1973. He was adopted by his father, Guy, and immigrated to the U.S.

“Butch” as he was affectionately called by his family, was a 1992 Bradford (Pa.) High School graduate. He went on to attend Pitt Bradford and Houghton College before pursuing a long career at Zippo Manufacturing and later at Luv Toyota dealership.

He enjoyed being in nature and had many hobbies. Fishing, hunting, camping, geocaching and riding his motorcycle were just a few his favorites. He enjoyed a fulfilling life of activity and adventure.

He is survived by a daughter, Kristin Bennett; two grandchildren, Katai and Raina; sister, Lisa O’Neil; brother, Andy Bennett; stepmother, Karen Bennett; stepfather, Don O’Neil; stepmother, Linda Kemick; stepbrother, James Spitalere; stepsister, Ashley Haynoski; stepsister, Katie Bennett; stepbrother, Ross Bennett; niece and nephews Israel, Judah and Ezra; and many cherished friends.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Chaweewan O’Neil; and father Guy Bennett.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday (Aug. 17, 2026) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean, at which time a memorial service will be held. The Rev. Bruce Taylor, pastor of Abundant Life Ministries, will officiate.
