Photographer Dan Jordan says bald eagle watching on the Allegheny River had been slow this summer until recently, when he spotted this adult male perched in a tree a couple of hundred yards from his home in Allegany. As Dan waited for the eagle to take flight, another eagle flew downriver — and the perched eagle took chase. "As he flew, he flew so close that in several of the images of him, all I could get was his head in the photo," Dan says. "I find this image to be the best of the many flight shots I was able to capture."
