Edna M. George
Edna M. George, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
OLEAN — Edna M. George, of Olean, passed away Tuesday (July 28, 2026) at Olean General Hospital.
Edna was born in Olean on Feb. 21, 1946, the daughter of Raphael and Cora Castle Stark. She was one of 10 children. She married Norman “Mickey” E. George Jr. in Olean on July 22, 1963, who predeceased her in February of 2008.
Edna was a manager at the Arco Campbell Oil Station and then went on to work for AVX on their assembly line.
She loved playing bingo, especially loved and enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, their annual trips to pick blueberries, baking, and the time she spent fishing with her husband.
Edna is survived by her four children, Robert (Stephanie) George, Ronda Pletl George, Tina George and Thomas George Sr.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her husband and a brother predeceased her.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (Aug. 1, 2026) with a funeral service to follow at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. Burial will be at Mount View Cemetery.
