PHOENIX, Ariz. — Bonnie L. Slinker died Friday, July 10, 2026, the result of being struck by a truck in a shopping center parking lot.

She was born in West Clarksville, N.Y., on Dec. 7, 1934, to Emma and Elton Carlson. She was one of six children.

She attended Richburg (N.Y.) Central School.

In 1959 she married Ronald Pratt. In 1960 they moved to Phoenix, Ariz. After that marriage ended, she married Don Slinker in 1973.

Before moving to Phoenix, she was employed by Loblaws Grocery Store. After moving she worked for AJ Bayless Grocery for many years.

After retiring, she volunteered at the Peoria Sports Complex during Spring Training for 30 years. She also volunteered at the Lutheran Thrift Store for many years where she was known as the “Christmas Light Lady.” She was also a member of the Community of Grace Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son, Randy Pratt; stepdaughters, Rene Sheppard and Bonnie Khan; a brother, Phil Carlson of North Wilksboro, N.C.; sister, Diana Chase of Glendale; and a grandson, Don Bogue.

She was preceded in death by Don Slinker; her son, Larry Pratt; brother, Junior Carlson; and sisters, Delores Sweet and Gretta Gram.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Macular Degeneration; Cancer Society; or American Heart Association.
