Kerry D. Green, beloved Papa

ELDRED, Pa. — Kerry D. Green, 65, a lifelong resident of Eldred, passed away in his home with his loving family by his side Thursday (July 16, 2026) after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born Wednesday, Feb. 22, 1961 in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of Wallace F. and Judith D. Kelsey Green. On Feb. 18, 1984, in Eldred, he married Tammy R. Johnston, who survives.

Kerry was a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School, Class of 1979.

He was first employed by Ethan Allen in Eldred until their closing. He then was employed by Olean General Hospital in Olean. Lastly, he was employed by Hamlin Bank in Smethport until he was no longer able to work due to his illness.

Kerry was a fur trapper. He enjoyed hunting and spending time in the woods. His greatest love was his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years; his parents of Eldred; three children, Nichole Green, Abby Green and Kyle (Melissa Stephen) Green, all of Olean; four grandchildren, Aaliyah, Emmit, Jackson and Calvin; three siblings, Richard (Marcia) Green of Eldred, Diana (Chuckie) Swithenbank of Virginia and Mike Green of Eldred; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Kerry’s life will be held on a date and place to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kerry’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741; or to the VNA of NW PA, 44 Bolivar Drive, Bradford, PA 16701.

Kerry’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
