The third annual Village of Knives Celebration took place at the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday, when knife dealers and collectors across North America and around the globe gathered. The highlight of this year’s show was a giant knife and fork carving set forged by Walter Baranowski, the History Channel’s December 2020 “Forged in Fire” champion. The new set was inspired by the original that was lost years ago and said to be the largest carving set in the world. A giant 9-foot 9-inch knife-and-fork carving set was forged by Walter Baranowski of Springville to celebrate Little Valley’s heritage in the knife industry and the 250th birthday of the United States. Shown (from left) are Wyatt and Sage Baranowski, Daniel Stang, Walter Baranowski, Johnnie Mitchell, Brad Lockwood and John Burrell.
