SALAMANCA — Nancy L. Pezon, 85, of Salamanca, passed away Thursday morning (July 9, 2026) at home, following a short illness.
Born Dec. 10, 1940, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith McStraw Pangborn. She was married June 28, 1958, in the former St. Patrick’s Church, to Frank Pezon Sr., who predeceased her Oct. 25, 2002.
Mrs. Pezon had been employed at the Salamanca Press, the Dudley Hotel, the Quality Inn in Ft. Mead, Md., the Wildwood Diner, Jamestown Table and the former Sheble & Wood Woolen Mills in Salamanca.
Surviving are two daughters, Tina (Scott) Engles of Kill Buck and Wanda Gebauer of Salamanca; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Craig (Lori) Pangborn of Little Valley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Keef; a son, Frank “Tony” Pezon Jr.; two sisters, Muriel Ann Pangborn and Rose Marie Pangborn; and a brother Wesley Pangborn.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, at Crowley Park, Salamanca. Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, 818 Ellicott St., Buffalo, NY 14203; or the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, 665 Elm St., Buffalo, NY 14203.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
