Dawn Elise Cushman

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Dawn Elise Cushman, age 71, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in St. Petersburg, surrounded by the love of her family.

Dawn was born July 23, 1954, in Olean, N.Y., and was the daughter of Duane Earl Pixley and Betty Ruth Pixley.

She spent her life devoted to her family and found her greatest happiness in the people she loved. She will be remembered for her strength, her sense of humor, and the unconditional love she gave to those closest to her.

Dawn is survived by her daughter, Elise (Zibi) Zielinski of St Petersburg; her sister, Michelle (Bob) Pascucci of Lexington, Ky.; her grandchildren, Emma Sebastian and Noah Sebastian; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Dawn was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Cushman; her mother, Betty Ruth Pixley; her father, Duane Earl Pixley; and her brother, Terrance Lee Pixley.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dawn’s life at a Celebration of Life from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (July 16, 2026) at the Allegany American Legion, 4350 Route 17, Allegany, N.Y. In keeping with Dawn’s spirit, family and friends are encouraged to share stories, laughter, and memories of the wonderful times they spent together.
