Firefighters practice with the city of Olean Fire Department's aerial truck over Olean Creek off the North Union Street Extension bridge on Tuesday afternoon. Olean Fire Chief Eric Maurouard said the training was part of the career firefighter academy being run by the city. The class of seven city fire recruits and a recruit from the Salamanca Fire Department learned how to operate the aerial of the truck, learning its abilities and limitations when working below the level of the truck. The class is in week seven of the 14-week program.
