OLEAN — Gloria A. Bush, a life-long resident of Olean, passed away Sunday (July 5, 2026) at Olean General Hospital.
OLEAN — Gloria A. Bush, a life-long resident of Olean, passed away Sunday (July 5, 2026) at Olean General Hospital.
Born Oct. 3, 1932, in Olean, Gloria was the daughter of Frank and Wenona Cleveland Phillips.
She graduated from Olean High School in 1951. Gloria worked as a salesclerk until she met and then married John J. Bush in 1953.
Gloria was a proud member of St. Mary of the Angels Church.
She loved the outdoors, playing cards, board games and most of all spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gloria loved her pets and was a fan of both the Buffalo Bills and the Sabres. Her favorite hobby was photography.
Gloria was survived by two sons, Bruce (Anne) Bush of Ovid and Steven (Tina) Bush of Olean; grandchildren, Julie (Nick) Dloniak, Jennifer Bush and James (Katie) Bush; great-grandchildren, Emmett, twin brothers Mason and Owen, Zachary and Aidan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John; and a sister, June Harrison.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday (July 8, 2026) at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Thursday (July 9, 2026) at St. Mary of the Angels Church, with burial to follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Guenther Funeral Home, 1303 E. State St., Olean.
