Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski, R-Canisteo, met with constituents during a town hall in the village of Allegany Monday evening. Topics included New York’s $277 billion state budget approved by Gov. Kathy Hochul and the majority Democrats in the Assembly and Senate and  affordability — from goods to services. “Not only did the governor and majority pass a late state budget, they somehow misplaced $9 billion when they reported the budget is $268 billion in May," Sempolinski said. "It took accountants in Albany almost a month to wash through the books and figure out the actual budget is $277 billion."
