Roger Bledsoe

Roger Bledsoe, age 81, peacefully passed away surrounded by love on Wednesday (June 17, 2026) at Ascension Alexian Brothers Hospice.

Roger was born in Cuba, N.Y. on Aug. 29, 1944, the son of the late Donald and Ruth Crawford Bledsoe.

While pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Rochester Institute of Technology, he met the love of his life, Bethany. Their chance meeting blossomed into a beautiful partnership that would span 30 cherished years. Together, they built a life filled with love, friendship and countless memories before her passing in 2003.

Those who knew Roger will remember him as a man full of life whose warmth and generosity touched everyone he met. He had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and valued, and his presence could brighten any room. He was deeply loved by family, friends, neighbors and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

An avid golfer, Roger found joy on the fairways, appreciating both the game and the camaraderie it brought. He also had a passion for gardening, taking pride in cultivating beautiful flowers and plants that reflected his patient and caring nature. A true beer connoisseur, he enjoyed exploring craft brews, sharing recommendations with friends, and savoring good conversations over a well-crafted pint.

Roger leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter and unwavering friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Morgan (Mike Huffer) O’Brien-Bledsoe; grandson, James Odierno; sisters, Donette (Lee) Shelley and Betty (Dana) Kwist; his best friends, Joe Parisi, Frank Parisi, Sam Morris, Kevin Butcher, Tony LaBanca, Jim Maroulis and Mike Durkin; and many nieces also survive.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bethany O’Brien; and his parents.

As it was Roger’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will take place at Allen Cemetery in Allen, N.Y.
