Mary Anne Dach

LEWIS RUN, Pa. — With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Mary Anne Dach of Lewis Run. Mary passed away peacefully at her home after a brief illness. She was 79.

She found love in attending church services, celebrating at family gatherings and spending time with those she loved most.

Mary will be remembered as a kind and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She leaves behind not only memories but a legacy of enduring love.

Mary was born in Salamanca, N.Y., on Jan. 17, 1947. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Anne Lloyd Malina.

She was a 1965 graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School in Olean, N.Y., and attended Alfred State University.

On June 8, 1968, in St. Patrick Church in Salamanca, she married Charles J. Dach, who survives.

Mary, along with her husband, Charles, and Peter and Marilyn Dach, had been partners in Dach’s Red House Inn. In 1979, she and her husband bought Singer’s Country Store and American Furniture Barn in Custer City, and prior to her retirement, she was manager of the Dairy Queen Restaurant for 10 years.

She was a former member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church and volunteered for the American Red Cross. She was a current member of St. Bernard Church.

Mary enjoyed gardening around her home and mowing the grass. She and her family loved boating on the Allegheny Reservoir, and for the last 10 years, she enjoyed wintering in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Surviving in addition to her husband Charles of 58 years, is one daughter, Theresa (Eric) Tait, of West Linn, Ore.; three sons, Jude (Kerri) Dach of Bradford, Christopher (Audrey) Dach, of Gunnison, Colo. and Ryan Dach of Lewis Run; five grandchildren, Jayden Tait, Elijah Tait, Gavin Dach, Keira Dach and Brayden Dach; three sisters, Susan (Rodney) Staples of Kenmore N.Y., Nancy (Douglas) Lasseter of Ottawa, Kansas and Rosie (Paul) Dangeler of The Villages Fla.; one brother, Eddie (Ann Wadsworth) Malina of Essex Junction Vt.; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday (June 28, 2026) in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday (June 29, 2026) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard Church with Fr. Ed Walk, pastor, as Celebrant.
