Maytel M. York, beloved daughter, granddaughter and sister

ELDRED, Pa. — Maytel M. York, of Slack Hollow Road, passed away Friday (June 12, 2026).

Maytel was born Oct. 18, 2001, in Bradford, the daughter of Byron M. and Shannon N. McDaniel York.

Maytel was a 2020 graduate of Otto Eldred High School.

She worked at Zippo for five years and worked as a PCA at Field of Dreams in Allegany.

Maytel loved her animals: Octavia, Reese, Atlas, Junie bug, Bells, Echo and Jupiter. She loved to ride her motorcycle, spend time with her family, go out to breakfast and be a home body.

Maytel is survived by her parents, Byron and Shannon of Eldred; a sister, Samantha L. (Quintin) Humbert of Japan; paternal grandfather, Byron York Sr. of Eldred; maternal grandparents, Jeffery and Valerie Armour Thompson of Duke Center; three aunts, Jamie L. Lincoln of Olean, N.Y., Corrie L. Williams of Rochester, N.Y. and Jessie M. Armour of Emporium; two uncles, Patrick M. Dempsey of Bradford and Terry Allen Wankel of Bradford; several cousins; and her best friend, Tyler Koch.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
