BUFFALO — Fred Koschir, 72, died Thursday (June 11, 2026) at Buffalo General Hospital, following a short illness.
Born Sept. 24, 1953, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late John and Maria Sattler Koschir. He was married on Oct. 8, 1977, at the Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church, to the former Bonnie Dineen, who survives.
He was a graduate of Dundas High School, Class of 1972.
He was vice president of Koschir & Stark Limited in Burlington, Ontario, for over 42 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and his dogs. He also enjoyed traveling and vacationing to Florida, working on antique classic cars, as well as wood working and carpentry. He will be remembered for having the ability to fix and repair almost anything.
Surviving beside his wife are one daughter, Nicole (Jason) Klein of Ellicottville; one son, Derek (Sarah) Koschir of Stoney Creek, Ontario; four granddaughters, Joanna and Harper Klein of Ellicottville and Mya and Aria Koschir of Stoney Creek, Ontario; and one grandson, Tosh Klein of Ellicottville.
There will be no visitation, private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
