Carol A. Davis, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother

BOLIVAR — Carol A. Davis, 79, of 8139 Salt Rising Road, Bolivar, passed away Friday (June 5, 2026) at home, after a lengthy illness.

Born June 15, 1946, in Olean, she was a daughter of Richard J. and Georgianna Bailey Hosley.  On Nov. 17, 1962, in the Cuba United Methodist Church, she married Dale D. Davis, who predeceased her on July 11, 2023.

Carol worked for ACME Electric as a PC assembler for many years prior to her retirement.

She enjoyed watching the birds, horseback riding, many years and miles of motorcycle rides, playing in bean bag leagues, line dancing and working puzzles on her kindle.  Most of all she loved being around her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dale D. (Linda) Davis Jr. and Allen (Patricia) Davis, both of Bolivar, Vicki (George) Matteson of Silver Springs and Brad (Lynn) Davis of Little Genesee; her grandchildren, Dustin, Drew, Jess, Misty, Lyndsey, Joey, LeAnn, Ashley, Amber, Austin and Nichole; many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Frank Hosley of Kentucky and Ronald (Paula) Hosley of Cuba; a sister, Bonnie (Tony) Tatham of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Shane Davis; a brother, Richard J. Hosley Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Hosley.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday (June 12, 2026) at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 554 S. Main St., Bolivar. A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Elva Cornell officiating.
