White smoke doesn't mean a new pope, but it does mean a reopened business at Burger King on State Road in the town of Allegany. The store reopened Sunday after being closed since late March for renovations. Carrols, the largest Burger King franchisee, previously closed the North Union Street location for a similar renovation in the summer and fall of 2025. Carrols parent Restaurant Brands International reported that around 2,000 stores are to be remodeled by 2028.
