John Randolph Linderman

PORT SAINT LUCIE, Fla. — John Randolph Linderman, 79, passed away at his home Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Port St. Lucie.

Born Aug. 4, 1946, in Cuba, N.Y., John lived a life defined by service, creativity, adventure, generosity and devotion to family.

He attended school in Cuba, earned a bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College and began his career teaching junior high art at Wilson Central School in Wilson, N.Y.

In 1969, John was drafted into the U.S. Navy, serving honorably until 1974. His service included training in Florida and Tennessee and a station assignment in Rhode Island, where he met his first wife, Rita.

Following the Navy, he continued his education at the Rhode Island School of Design, studying architecture and launching a successful career that began with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with assignments in Virginia and abroad.

John’s adventurous spirit carried him and his family around the world, including time in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Russia. While living in Japan, he and Rita adopted their two youngest children, just one example of his generous, caring nature.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Melinda L.P. Linderman; children, Jessica (Anthony) Cosentino, Cameron Linderman, Micah (Jessica) Linderman and Michaela (Raul Ramirez) Linderman; stepchildren, Kenneth (Melanie) Posey and Kelly Renaud; and eight cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Peter Linderman; and his sister, Mary Cam (Jim) Wilson.

John was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Linderman; his parents, K. Stephens and Cornelia Meese Linderman; and his brother, William Stephen Linderman.

Guided by the belief, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” John will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and love of family.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie. Interment will be held at a future date.
