Donald C. Mosman, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Donald C. Mosman of Tennessee, formerly of Black Creek, N.Y., passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, after a lengthy illness.
Born April 17, 1938, in Olean, N.Y., Donald was the son of Ellsworth and Valeta Fiester Mosman. On July 4, 1987, in Cuba, N.Y., he married the former Sally E. Smith, who survives him.
Donald graduated from Olean High School with the Class of 1956 and later studied food technology at SUNY Morrisville.
He worked as a salesman for Diversey Lever in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 18 years before retiring in 2000.
Donald found great joy in serving others and devoted much of his life to volunteer work. He delivered meals through Meals on Wheels, volunteered with the Office for the Aging, and consistently sought opportunities to help those around him. As a member of North Park Wesleyan Church, he faithfully served as a deacon, trustee and lay leader, and he greatly enjoyed singing in the church choir.
Following his move to Tennessee, Donald became a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethlehem in Clarksville. He enjoyed listening to southern gospel music and was actively involved in helping establish the Eldred Koinonias.
In addition to his loving wife, Sally, Donald is survived by his children, Scott (Leslie) Mosman of Rochester, N.Y., Mark Mosman and Julie Mosman, both of Leicester, N.Y., Andrew (Debra) Kester of Clarksville, Tammy (James) O’Brien of Spring Hill and Sarah (Chris) Miller of Huntsville, Texas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister ,Alice (Julian) Hunt of Newfield, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, with funeral services immediately following. Pastor Jim O’Brien will officiate. Burial will take place at Black Creek Cemetery in the Town of New Hudson, N.Y.
