HOUSTON, Texas — William Bradley Ford, affectionately known as “Brad” to family and friends, passed away peacefully under hospice care in Houston on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born Jan. 22, 1947, in Olean, N.Y., Brad was the son of William H. Ford and Phyllis Appleby Ford.
He graduated from Olean High School in 1965 before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. From March 31, 1966 to June 20, 1969, he served as a meteorologist stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam. His military service reflected his dedication, courage and strong sense of duty.
Following his honorable service, Brad attended St. Bonaventure University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1975.
He went on to enjoy a distinguished career spanning nearly five decades with Dresser Industries, Dresser-Rand, and Siemens. As an optical Alignment specialist, Brad traveled extensively and earned the respect of colleagues through his professionalism, expertise, integrity and tireless work ethic. He retired in 2022 in Houston.
Brad’s life was deeply rooted in faith and service. He was a devoted member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in Houston and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and steadfast love for his family and friends.
Brad is survived by his beloved wife, Soo Yi Ford; his sister, Bonnie (Eliseo) Lucarelli; his stepson, Bryan( Kianna) Yi; and his stepdaughter, Hesen Yi. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jaden, Juliet and Jackson, as well as his nieces, Paula (Larry) Oakley and Mary (Damone) Choo Quan, all of whom brought him great joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Phyllis Appleby Ford; and his great-nephew, Leonardo Choo Quan.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday (June 5, 2026) at the Ford family gravesite in Allegany, N.Y. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Brad’s life, at Allegany Cemetery, 3450 Maple Ave., Allegany.
