KILL BUCK —Helena M. Pennell, 74, of Kill Buck, died Sunday (May 31, 2026) at the Pines Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Olean.

Born June 15, 1951, in Olean, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Canfield Marinari. She was married on Oct. 3, 1970, in the former St. Patrick’s Church, to Terry Pennell, who survives.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1969.

Helena had been employed as a clerk with several area post offices, retiring from the office in St. Bonaventure.

She was a member of the Salamanca Quilting Group, the Salamanca Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and former of Our Lady of Peace Parish.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Bradley (Nichole) Pennell of Great Valley and Mark (Kimberly Scott) Pennell of Indian Trail, N.C.; two granddaughters, Molly (Randall Jr.) Wolbert and Lauren Pennell, both of Salamanca; two grandsons, Dominic Pennell of Indian Trail and Ethan Pennell of Great Valley; a great-granddaughter, Piper Wolbert of Salamanca; three sisters, Lynette (Michael) Koscielski of Hamburg, Brenda (Gregory) Ballachino of Springville and Patty (Robert) Stables of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada; a brother, Thomas (Margie) Marinari of Macedon; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
