RUSHFORD — Frank J. Scott, 61, of Rushford, passed away unexpectedly Monday (May 18, 2026) at home.
Born Feb. 21, 1965, in Cuba, he was a son of the late Russell G. and Sylvia S. Speta Scott.
Frank was a graduate of Rushford Central School, Class of 1983.
A proud veteran, he served in the U.S. Army’s HHC 20th Engineering Brigade from Nov. 13, 1985, until Nov. 18, 1991. For his dedicated service, he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, M16 Expert Badge, Parachute Badge, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Honduran Parachute Badge and the Army Achievement Medal.
Upon returning home, he worked briefly for 84 Lumber before dedicating 18 years as a skilled welder for API in Arcade. In 2011, he followed his passion and purchased the Allegheny Hills Golf Course, which he proudly owned and operated until his passing.
He loved to hunt, fish and golf, achieving a hole in one with his Thursday Night Men’s League.
Frank was a lifetime member of the Friendship American Legion Post 1168, Shawn M. Clemens Memorial AmVets Post 1 of Cuba, and the Cuba Friendship Masonic Lodge 306 F&AM.
He is survived by his children, Dylan (Tori) Scott of Whitsett, N.C. and Leah (John) Robinson of Depew; his grandchildren, Sadie, Mabelle and Benjamin; two sisters, Lisa (James) Schneider of Belmont and Charlene (Jonathan) Smith of Rushford; his former spouse, Cheryl Scott of Tonawanda; three nephews, Carter (Elisa) Schneider, Cody (Sarah) Schneider and Zachary Napoli; and one niece, Lauren Smith.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday (May 23, 2026) at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba. Pam Tilton, a close family friend, will hold services beginning at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shawn M. Clemens Memorial AmVets Post 1 in Cuba.
