FARMERSVILLE — David Gregory “Dave” Russell, 74, of Farmersville, passed away peacefully Monday (May 18, 2026).
Born Oct. 12, 1950, Dave was a proud Vietnam veteran who served honorably in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 5 and Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. Dave spent over 30 years working at Mosler Safe in Franklinville until the company closed. He later worked at Ontario Knife Company until his retirement. He was known as a good-natured, small-town man who was welcoming, kind-hearted, humorous, private and loved deeply.
Dave loved spending time in his garage, being outside, going for truck rides, tinkering around and enjoying time with family and friends. His humor, energy and welcoming personality could light up any room. Though he lived a simple and private life, he was deeply loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
He remained close with his former wife, children and grandchildren, and shared a special bond with his family and friends throughout his life. Dave was one of 12 siblings and was preceded in death by several brothers.
He is survived by his children; siblings; extended family; and many friends who loved him dearly.
His family will forever cherish the laughter, love and memories he leaves behind.
Per Dave’s wishes, there will be no funeral or celebration of life.
