Ann Lee, spent her life helping others
OLEAN — Ann Lee passed away Saturday (May 16, 2026) at Salamanca Nursing Home.
Ann was born in Salamanca on Dec. 3, 1944, the daughter of Anthony and Teckla Solarek Lee.
Ann graduated from Mount Mercy Academy in 1962. She went on to receive a BA from Emmanual College in Boston, and an MBA from St. Bonaventure.
She served as a missionary in Papua, New Guinea; was a manager of Olean Answering Service; office manager of St. Francis Hospital; and installed lifeline for VNA Services.
Ann loved golf and bowling and was a stamp collector. She traveled to England, Ireland, France, Italy and South Africa.
Ann is survived by a sister-in-law, Nancy Lee; nephews, John (Donna) Lee, Mike (Allison) Lee and David (Laura) Lee; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Teckla; and two brothers, Richard and Charles Lee.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday (May 21, 2026) at the Guenther Funeral Home, 1303 E. State St., Olean.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday (May 22, 2026) at the Basilica of St. Mary’s of the Angels, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Salamanca.
