SALAMANCA — Abu B. Ramadhan, 77, of Salamanca, died Saturday (May 9, 2026) peacefully at home, following a long illness.

Born June 26, 1948, in Buffalo, he was one of twelve children of the late Obidiah and Mary Patterson Ramadhan. He was married in 1981 to the former Clara McMahon, who survives.

He was a graduate of West Valley High School, Class of 1966, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Fredonia University.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1970-1972 during the Vietnam Era in Germany. He then served in the Army National Guard for several years.

Abu had been employed as a counselor with the New York State Division for Youth in Great Valley until his retirement. After retirement, he worked seasonally at both Holiday Valley and Holimont.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and barbecuing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Atiya (Josh) Ramadhan of Carrollton and Yasmine (Joshua) King of Saranac Lake; six grandchildren, Kamar Milliner, Matthew Milliner, Kamil Milliner, Amaya Milliner, Ella King and Ethan King; a brother, Allee A. Ramadhan, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Maryama Ramadhan; three sisters, Maryama, Sahira and Zareyfah; and seven brothers, Obidah, Arthmard, Shagara, Ezaldeen, Thyleb, Nasar and Muhummed.

At his request, there will be no visitation.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
