Karen L. Easley
OLEAN — Karen L. Easley, 78, a resident of Olean the past eight years, and a former longtime resident of Whittier, Calif., passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2026, at Olean General Hospital. She had been in declining health for the past two years.
Born Aug. 1, 1947, in Grand Junction, Colo., she was the daughter of Myron A. and Doris N. Wilson Goodwin. She was married to Gary N. Easley, who predeceased her Nov. 27, 2017.
Karen lived most of her life in California, where she graduated from Monterey High School.
It is in California where she met her husband Gary and where she worked as a fourth-grade teacher for Norwalk, Calif. Christian School, and Brethren Christian School in Whittier. She last worked as a librarian for the La Habra, Calif. Library.
She enjoyed doing puzzles, coloring and watching mystery shows on television. She also loved to play board games and card games with her grandsons.
She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Easley and Perry Attwell of Olean; two grandsons, Jonas Easley and Lence Easley; a sister, Diane Seva’aetasi of Monterey, Calif.; a niece and nephews, Misty, Roman, David and Troy; and several cousins, including Janice Butler, Sharon Brown and Patrick Daily, all of Colorado.
She was predeceased by her husband and parents.
At Karen’s request, there will be no scheduled services.
