Participants walk Saturday at Good Times of Olean during the second annual Moving Day: A Walk for Parkinson’s, sponsored by the Olean Parkinson’s Support Group. Moving Day is a national event that raises funds for the Parkinson’s Foundation, with proceeds supporting research toward improved treatments and a cure. A total of 107 participants walked in the event, said organizer Jami Fichter, an occupational therapist with VNA of WNY. Fichter founded the support group in January 2024, with the group growing from nine participants at the first meeting to 68 last month. The group meets from 10-11:30 a.m. the second Saturday of each month at Crosstown Alliance Church, 1513 Main St., Olean. For more information, visit the Olean Parkinson’s Support Group on Facebook.
