Peter F. Budzinski

SALAMANCA — Peter F. Budzinski, 84, of Salamanca, died Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Bradford Regional Medical Center, following a short illness.

Born Feb. 6, 1942, in Salamanca, he was the son of the late Frank and Theresa Meyers Budzinski. He was married Oct. 12, 1969, at the former Holy Cross Church, to the former Patricia Halterman, who predeceased him in 2024.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1959.

Peter had been employed as a Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputy for over 35 years, retiring in 2003. Upon retirement and for the next 15 years, he served in the sheriff’s office transportation department.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife at their camp in the Town of Humphrey, travelling, football and baseball. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a fan of St. Bonaventure basketball.

Surviving are a sister, Diane Ambuske of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad St., Salamanca, with Rev. John Trela as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca.
