June S. Odell, loving mother and grandmother
LAKE WORTH, Fla. — June S. Odell, 98, of Lake Worth, and a former Cuba, N.Y. resident, passed away Sunday (April 19, 2026) in Lake Worth, after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 27, 1928, in Little Genesee, she was a daughter of Donald L. and Movureen Childs Shelley. On Nov. 24, 1948, in the Cuba United Methodist Church, she married J. Thomas Odell, who predeceased her Nov. 21, 2011.
She graduated from Cuba Central School in 1946 and then from Westbrook Business School.
She worked in accounts receivable at Acme Electric, the First National Bank in Cuba and retired from Guilford Dairy.
Her interests included crocheting, gardening, tending to her plants, genealogy, quilting, reading and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin (Jennie) Odell of Iva, S.C. and Kerry (Cathy) Odell of Smithfield, Pa.; a daughter, Kathleen (Mike) Manesh of Lake Worth; seven grandchildren, Shawn (Ashley) Odell, Erin (Mike) Eckley, Patrick (Amanda) Odell, Shelley (Chad) Greene, Shannon Odell, Sarah June (Ben) Manesh-Berger and Daniel Manesh; 12 great-grandchildren, Fox, Karson, Huntley, Grey, Madison, Tucker, Maggie, Wesley, Seth, Sebastian, Elias and Ramon; a sister, Aletha Stearns of Canisteo, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her two brothers, Donald (Nita) Shelley and John (Onalee) Shelley; and brother-in-law, James Stearns.
The family will gather later this year to celebrate her life and honor her memory. Burial will be next to her husband in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, N.Y.
