William J. ‘Bill’ Woodring

OLEAN — William J. “Bill” Woodring, of Division Street, passed away Wednesday (April 15, 2026).

Bill was born Jan. 29, 1975, in Olean, and was the son of Millard R. “Woody” and Karen D. Foley Woodring.

Bill was a 1995 graduate of Olean High School.

He worked at McHone Industry in Salamanca as a welder for many years before he became disabled.

Bill enjoyed playing golf, he was an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan.

Bill is survived by his mother, Karen D. Woodring of Olean; six siblings, Leeanne C. (Gray) Rogerson of North Carolina, Tina L. Saurers of Virginia Beach, Va., Kevin J. Woodring of Ceres, James “Jim” A. (Tammy) Woodring of Hamilton, Ohio, Christopher M. (Karen) Woodring of Olean and Shawn G. Woodring of Johnsonburg, Pa.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; his long time girlfriend of over 20 years, Gloria Shaffer of Olean; and their pugs, Sheldon and Auggie.

Bill was predeceased by his father, Woody, on Jan. 26, 2007; a cousin, Anthony Pessia on Aug. 4, 2012; and beloved dog, Gracie Pug.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday (April 25, 2026) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean, at which time a memorial service will be held. Pastor Jim Balson Jr. of Olean First Baptist Church will officiate. Following the service a Celebration of Life will be held at the Olean American Legion, 307 E State St, Olean.
