SALAMANCA — Rodney W. Lecceardone, 79, of Elkdale, passed away Wednesday (April 15, 2026) at his home.

He was born July 26, 1946, in Salamanca, the son of the late Henry and Catherine MacNamara Lecceardone.

On Dec. 16, 1972, he married the former Jaris Puvel, who predeceased him Sept. 18, 1997.

Mr. Lecceardone graduated from Little Valley Central School in 1964.

He owned and operated Elkdale Wood Products from 1977-1992. He later was self-employed in the logging and timber business.

He was on the Board of Directors for the Catt.Co. Ag. Society for 30 years where he was very active with the Cattaraugus County Fair.He also was active and loved the Little Valley Speedway in Little Valley. He also had been active with the Catt. Co. Democratic Committee.

He is survived by a son, Jarrod (Annika Anderson) Lecceardone of Salamanca; and two daughters, Hayden (James Breen) Williamson of Salamanca and Heather (Robert) Stotz of Buffalo. He is also survived by his loving companion, Laurie O’Donnell of Salamanca; his stepchildren, William (Heather) Earley of Randolph, Christina (Edward) Marquez of Randolph and Melissa (Douglas) Mignone of Salamanca; and 11 grandchildren, Olivia, Carrie and Shane Stotz, Aubrey and Asher Marquez, Jenna, Caitlin, and Brooke Glowacki, Emma, Raegan and William Earley. Also surviving is a sister, Joan Nannen of Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Robert Lecceardone.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday (April 24, 2026) at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, from Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Salamanca. Burial will be in Little Valley Rural Cemetery.
