ALLEGANY — Bonnie L. Doty, 85, of Allegany, and a longtime winter resident of Florida, passed away Saturday (April 11, 2026) in Celebration, Fla.
Born Oct. 14, 1940, in Olean, she was the daughter of Lawrence R. and Marian Z. Becker Mohr Sr.
Bonnie was a 1958 graduate of Allegany Central School and received a nursing degree at Alfred State College.
She worked as a registered nurse and supervisor in the ICU at the former St. Francis Hospital. She last worked as a nursing supervisor at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Facility in Olean prior to her retirement.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Bonaventure Parish in Allegany and had been a longtime avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Both as an Allegany resident and as a snowbird in Florida she enjoyed gardening, decorating her home and doing her daily wordle puzzle. She also loved playing bunco with friends, doing arts and crafts and spending time on social media.
Most important to her was the time she spent with family.
She leaves behind two daughters, Laurie (John) Lippert of Bowling Green, Ky. and Michelle (Phil Scheminger) Cooley-Scheminger of Richmond, Va.; six grandchildren, Bobby (Sarah) Lippert, Marisa (Hollis) Howard, Justin Cooley, Ryan (Hannah) Scheminger, Ben Cooley and Jacob (fiancé Morgan) Lippert; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, David (Barbara) Mohr Sr., George (Gene) Mohr and Daniel (Paula) Mohr; a sister-in-law, Laura Mohr; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Nikki.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Lawrence Mohr Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Mohr.
Funeral plans will be forthcoming. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
