Norma A. Sisson, loving mother and grandmother

OLEAN —  Norma A. Sisson, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday (April 7, 2026) at her home.

Norma was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Yorkshire, and was the daughter of Nelson and Effie Starks Sr.  She married Robert E. Sisson Sr., who predeceased her Dec. 5, 1995.

Norma was a 1957 graduate of Wellsville High School. She attended nursing school at St. James Hospital in Hornell and also Jamestown School of Nursing.

Norma worked at several nursing homes including Highland Nursing, Wellsville Manor, St. Joseph’s in Olean, Hewitt Manor in Shinglehouse, Pa., Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport, Pa. and the Allegany Nursing Home before we worked as a private care provider.

Norma loved her country music and playing guitar, she could play anything on her guitar and almost became a professional guitarist and vocalist.

Norma is survived by four children, David E. (Sheila) Sisson of Weston Mills, Mary of Rochester, Kathryn M. Sisson and Brian W. (Jennifer) Sisson, both of Olean; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with her loving husband, Robert, Norma was predeceased by her parents; a son, Robert E. Sisson Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
